I've migrated the draft post with my timeline over here, and created a Gallery for the pics.
Well I'm starting this post on Tuesday, August 8th. I've just started an afghan for a friend of mine that's getting married on September 1st. She reads this blog, so this post will be hidden until after the wedding. I'll dateline it so that you can follow along with my progress.
Day One: Tuesday, August 8th I sent Rebecca into my craft room on a yarn expedition. We have success! She found two 1000g balls of RH Comfort in burgundy. One is *very* slightly used, but my guess is that less than 50g total is gone from it. This is more than enough for my planned project. It took me quite a while last week to find the pattern, but I did it. For right now my goal is to crochet one square on every day off I have. As of this writing, I'm half-way through my first square.
Day Two: Wednesday, August 9th It's now nearly 1 pm, and I'm just starting square #2. I'll take some pictures later of the first square and the *HUGE* balls of yarn I'm using for this!
Day Eight: Tuesday, August 15th Well I've got a bit more than 2 weeks left to get this done. I just finished off square #4, and will start #5 today. It's starting to look like something now, but I still have a lot more to do. I just wish my hands would co-operate more. I'm also having ADD moments since my current SON are all calling to me. At least the short deadline to finish this will hopefully keep me on track. The slogging rounds {8-16} are now being rewarded... for every round I crochet, I get to do two rounds of patterned socks, or 4 rounds of the ribbed sock.
Day Eighteen: Friday, August 25th Well it's a week left to go, and I'm only at the halfway point. My hands are simply not allowing me to do as much crocheting as I need to do, to get this afghan to 12 squares. In order to get it done, I'm going to have to scale back and make it a lapghan, at 9 squares.
Day Twenty Five: Friday, September 1st Well it's the day of the wedding, and the {scaled back} afghan is done. The border and ends were completed in the morning. In the evening, I finally got a phone call explaining that the wedding has been postponed until Monday. This works out better for me since I will be on vacation, but it means that the big reveal of this project needs to be put on hold for a few more days.
