I finished two pairs of my SIPs {Socks In Progress} last week, and have added them to my FO Gallery. I was able to upload to Blogger for once, so I have them listed there as well, along with a bit more information about them.

Golf, with a side order of deer.

Well we went out on Saturday to play some golf. Derek took me to Tuxedo since it's a pretty flat course. It ended up being *way* too long for me. First of all, the guy told Derek the wrong tee-off time -- 2pm, when it was actually 3:15. So that added an hour. Then there was a tournament going on, and that extended the game quite a bit more. Derek and I should have been on our way home by 6, but we didn't finish our round until nearly 8:30. I was EXHAUSTED!!! We did get a diversion on the back 9 though, some deer came to visit! I can't remember if it was the 15th or 16th hole, but it was nice to see something interesting while we waited to tee off. You can see the pics in my gallery here.

The Super Secret Project Revealed {at last!!!}

9th September 2006 (10:22)
relieved

current location: At my desk, finally!!!
current mood: relieved

I've migrated the draft post with my timeline over here, and created a Gallery for the pics.

Well I'm starting this post on Tuesday, August 8th. I've just started an afghan for a friend of mine that's getting married on September 1st. She reads this blog, so this post will be hidden until after the wedding. I'll dateline it so that you can follow along with my progress.

Day One: Tuesday, August 8th I sent Rebecca into my craft room on a yarn expedition. We have success! She found two 1000g balls of RH Comfort in burgundy. One is *very* slightly used, but my guess is that less than 50g total is gone from it. This is more than enough for my planned project. It took me quite a while last week to find the pattern, but I did it. For right now my goal is to crochet one square on every day off I have. As of this writing, I'm half-way through my first square.

Day Two: Wednesday, August 9th It's now nearly 1 pm, and I'm just starting square #2. I'll take some pictures later of the first square and the *HUGE* balls of yarn I'm using for this!

Day Eight: Tuesday, August 15th Well I've got a bit more than 2 weeks left to get this done. I just finished off square #4, and will start #5 today. It's starting to look like something now, but I still have a lot more to do. I just wish my hands would co-operate more. I'm also having ADD moments since my current SON are all calling to me. At least the short deadline to finish this will hopefully keep me on track. The slogging rounds {8-16} are now being rewarded... for every round I crochet, I get to do two rounds of patterned socks, or 4 rounds of the ribbed sock.

Day Eighteen: Friday, August 25th Well it's a week left to go, and I'm only at the halfway point. My hands are simply not allowing me to do as much crocheting as I need to do, to get this afghan to 12 squares. In order to get it done, I'm going to have to scale back and make it a lapghan, at 9 squares.

Day Twenty Five: Friday, September 1st Well it's the day of the wedding, and the {scaled back} afghan is done. The border and ends were completed in the morning. In the evening, I finally got a phone call explaining that the wedding has been postponed until Monday. This works out better for me since I will be on vacation, but it means that the big reveal of this project needs to be put on hold for a few more days.

Progress Friday

8th September 2006 (21:41)
accomplished

current location: Still at Derek's pooter
current mood: accomplished

Since Blogger is such a beast, Progress Fridays will be posted here for the time being. Here's this week's installment:
Derek's GI DennisHere's where I am on Derek's GI Dennis sock. I've done the pattern repeats, and am working on the heel flap. I anticipate being done this sock by the end of next week.
Cabled Work SocksHere's how far I've gotten on my cabled work sock design. I'm trying to come up with a very practical name for my very practical socks!!! The cables are making this sock slow-going, so I give myself about 2 weeks to complete it... it all depends on how the foot goes.
Scales Skin SockHere's my SSS with the heel turned. I'm *still* raving over my Inox dpns!!! I'm cruising right along on this sock, and wouldn't be surprised to be grafting the toe within the next week or so.
Lemme know what you think... either here, or back on Blogger.

Testing... testing... is anyone out there?

Well with all the problems I've had with Blogger of late, I've decided to look into other blog options. I am using my space at Yahoo and MSN for other things, so I'm trying out LJ. Please bear with me as I learn how to alter the look and format of my blog, as well as working out how to upload and link photots, yadda yadda.

Lemme know what ya think...
